One of my main reasons for starting PoundWise Journey was to be accountable to myself by sharing the progress I am making in my pursuit towards financial mastery.
And what better way of doing that than sharing updates of my net worth on the blog?
That’s why I’ve decided to share a complete breakdown of my net worth, every month. I’m hoping as the months pass, my finances will improve and you’ll be able to see the progress over time.
I’d like to be able to look back on this post in years to come and see how far I’ve come.
Below you’ll see my total assets, my total liabilities, and my total net worth. At this point, it’s going to be pretty one-sided, but I’m hoping over time, my liabilities column will be empty, and my assets column will bulk up a bit. We all have to start somewhere, after all. See how I calculate my net worth here.
So here is my net worth report for June 2025.
My Net Worth for June 2025
Assets
Right now, I have no assets. I have no investments, not even any savings. I will be hoping to at least create an emergency fund in the near future by saving at least 10% of my income.
Total Assets: £0.00
Liabilities
I am currently paying £25 per month on my credit card. The minimum payment for this card is 1% of the balance, which this month would be £18.75. I want to be paying slightly more and this is a regular amount that I know I can afford to pay.
I am also paying off a Very catalogue, usually I pay £20 per month. The buy now pay later period ends in January, so £20 per month is the bare minimum I need to pay if I want to avoid interest after that period ends. Any extra money I have at the end of the month will go towards paying extra off this account.
Once I’ve paid my Very account, I can use the £20 a month that’s now available to pay extra on my credit card.
Credit Card Debts: £1,875.00
Very Catalogue: £140.00
Total Liabilities: £2,015.00
Net Worth
Net worth is basically what you have left when you subtract your liabilities from your assets. Or put even more simply, ‘Assets – Liabilities = Net Worth’.
My Net Worth: £0.00 – £2,015.00 = -£2,015.00
My Target for Next Month
I realise this hasn’t been a very detailed net worth report, but it’s very early days at this point. Once I start building my finances up, these reports will become more and more detailed as time goes on.
I’m hoping that when I post July’s net worth report, I’ll be under the £2,000 amount, and I can say that being £2,000 in debt is a thing of the past.
I am hoping to find a job very soon, even if it’s only a short-term thing. I know I haven’t coped well in jobs before due to my autism and ADHD, but if I can find something that’s more suited to me, then I’m sure things will be better.
Anyway, thanks for reading my net worth report for June 2025. See you in the next one.
