Welcome to Pound Wise Journey blog post thumbnail with logo.

Today is the official birthday of the Pound Wise Journey blog.

I never really had much knowledge or interest in blogging, until a few years ago when I discovered personal finance blogs such as Skint Dad, I Will Teach You To Be Rich, and Mr Money Mustache. These blogs inspired me to create a personal finance blog of my own.

After a few years of having some mental health troubles and my own limiting beliefs, I felt now was the best time to try and kick those limiting beliefs to the kerb and actually give blogging a go. I have a keen interest in personal finance, and a keen interest in blogging, so it seems like this is meant to be, right?

Well, at the time of writing this, I’m an unemployed, broke guy in his 30’s, who hasn’t made the best financial choices in life thus far (I paid for this domain and web hosting with my credit card after all).

So who am I to be writing about personal finance?

That’s why I decided that I’m not even going to try to come across as an expert, because I want to be authentic and genuine. So instead I thought I’d start this personal finance blog from the perspective of an absolute beginner. Think of it as starting a story from zero, and over time building myself to become the best I can possibly be, and sharing what I’ve learned along the way. That’s what I want the Pound Wise Journey blog to be about, with a big emphasis on the word ‘journey’.

I feel that writing a blog this way, I’ll be more relatable and hopefully I can inspire a lot of people along the way to start their own personal finance journey. My goal is to start from absolutely nothing, (well actually I’m starting from a negative number, due to the credit card debt I currently have) and become the best version of myself I can possibly be.

Also, I want to keep myself accountable towards achieving my financial goals, and I feel that keeping this blog will be a great way of achieving this. I’m just a guy, specifically someone that has never been any good at seeing things through, I’m not perfect, but I’m committed to becoming better and passionate about learning, and sharing.

So please, feel free to follow my journey, and stay tuned for more to come in the future.
